Today I want to share a scripture that has built my faith recently, reminding me that there God will forgive the sins of the sinner, even if they are horrible sins.

Paul is telling Timothy of his many sins forgiven by God, and we know how God used Paul after his conversion.  "Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious:  but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief."  (1 Timothy 1:13)

If your prodigal seems so lost that salvation seems impossible, remember the Apostle Paul!  Your prodigals and mine can be saved!  I believe God CAN, and I know He WILL!!!

More promises!

"Have you not known?  Have you not heard?  The everlasting God, the LORD, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary.  His understanding is unsearchable."  (Isaiah 40:28)

"They wandered in the wilderness in a desolate way; They found no city to dwell in .  Hungry and thirsty, Their soul fainted in them.  Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, And He delivered them out of their distresses.  Those who sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, Bound in affliction and irons -- Because they rebelled against the words of God, And despised the counsel of the Most High, Therefore He brought down their heart with labor; They fell down, and there was none to help.  Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, And He saved them out of their distresses.  He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, And broke their chains in pieces.  Fools, because of their transgression, And because of their iniquities, were afflicted.  Their soul abhorred all manner of food.  Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, And He saved them out of their distresses."  (Psalm 107:4-6, 10-14, 17-19)

Doubting Thomas

A visiting minister read the story of Thomas.  Right in the middle it hit me:  Jesus went to Thomas, met him where he was, physically and in his lack of faith.  Then He revealed Himself in a way that built Thomas' faith.  Then He said to Thomas, ‘Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing’ ” (John 20:27).

God will do that for our prodigals!!  He knows their doubts intimately, every detail.  He knows their doubts about Him.  He knows their doubts about themselves.  He knows if they are doubting His ability or willingness to forgive them for what they have done.  He knows if they are questioning His existence.

He knows.

He also knows what He needs to do to show them Himself and to increase their faith.

I am praying that for my prodigal and for others.

This is the prayer I sent out to our list of pray-ers for prodigals:

LORD, You helped doubting Thomas.  Help _______________.  Just like You met Thomas where his doubt was and revealed Yourself in a way that built his faith, meet ________________ and reveal Yourself in a way that builds his/her faith and restore him/her to salvation.  In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen!

It has been pouring rain for most of the day!  It just hit me a few minutes ago that this is what we are praying for spiritually.

I want to list more promises.

"There is no one like the God of Jeshurun, Who rides the heavens to help you, And in His excellency on the clouds.  The eternal God is your refuge, And underneath are the everlasting arms; He will thrust out the enemy from before you, And will say, 'Destroy!' " (Deuteronomy 33:26-27)

"For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him."  (2 Chronicles 16:9)

"I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears."  (Psalm 34:4)

"Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom." (Luke 12:32)

"With Him are strength and prudence.  The deceived and the deceiver are His.   He uncovers deep things out of darkness, And brings the shadow death to light."  (Job 12:16,22)

"And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in." (Isaiah 58:12)

"And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children." (Isaiah 54:13)

I will call that good. The last two really spoke to me! I LOVE the promises of the Word of God!
They are all mine!

And yours!

So many prayers have been answered!  We have had nine people saved!  God is answering prayer!

Last Wednesday night, Voices of Life finished rehearsal early, and we began to pray for each other.  God moved on me to tell them that prayer is "powerful words to an all-powerful God that stay before the throne into eternity."

God hears the prayers of the righteous!  God answers the prayers of the righteous.  He is Jehovah Tsidkenu, the LORD our Righteousness.  He gives us His righteousness, and because of that, He will hear and answer our prayers!  He doesn't just answer the prayers of Christian celebrities, or pastors, or elders, or leaders, but He answers our prayers!

I think I will include more promises before I close.

"For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.  For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ."  (2 Corinthians 10:3-5)

"Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain:  that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you."  (John 15:16)

"You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world."  (1 John 4:4)

"I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears."  (Psalm 34:4)

"God is not a man, that he should like; neither the son of man, that he should repent:  hath he said, and shall he not do it?  or hath he spoken, and shall he not amke it good?"  (Numbers 23:19)

For this post, this one scriptural promise can stand on its own.

"For I will take you from among the nations, gather you out of all countries, and bring you into your own land.  Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols.  I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.  I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them."  (Ezekiel 36:24-27 NKJV)

The promises just keep coming!

" 'Return, O backsliding children,' says the LORD; 'for I am married to you.' "--(Jeremiah 3:14)

"Therefore, behold, I will hedge up your way with thorns, And wall her in, So that she cannot find her paths.  She will chase her lovers, But not overtake them; Yes, she will seek them, but not find them.  Then she will say, 'I will go and return to my first husband, For then it was better for me than now.' "  (Hosea 2:6-7)

"Thus says the LORD:  'A voice was heard in Ramah, Lamentation and bitter weeping, Rachel weeping for he children, Refusing to be comforted for her children, Because they are no more.'  Thus says the LORD:  'Refrain your voice from weeping, And your eyes from tears; For your work shall be rewarded, says the LORD, And they shall come back from the land of the enemy.' "  (Jeremiah 31:15-17)

"I will seek that which was lost, and bring again that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen that which was sick."  (Exekiel 34:16)

"Look to Me, and be saved, All you ends of the earth!  For I am God, and there is no other."   (Isaiah 45:22)

And one more:  "But you, be strong and do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded!"  (2 Chronicles 15:7)

Bless the Name of the Lord, Whose promises change not!!
