"God just issued a flash flood warning." -- Jeff Lawson

I hear a stirring in the tops of the mulberry trees!!!

A major breakthrough is coming!!!

I think the LORD is trying to prepare me for a major breakthrough!!

Kay Collins posted this on my Facebook page:  "I’ve almost learned to get encouraged through discouraging circumstances because it seems major setbacks always come just before major breakthrough." -- Jentezen Franklin

Then this morning, I read these two passages of scripture:  "And the Philistines came up yet again, and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.  And when David enquired of the LORD, he said, Thou shalt not go up; but fetch a compass behind them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.  And let it be, when thou hearest the sound of a going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself:  for then shall the LORD go out before thee, to smite the host of the Philistines.  And David did so, as the LORD had commanded him; and smote the Philistines from Geba until thou come to Gazer.  (2 Samuel 5:22-25)

And. . .  "Let them now that fear the LORD say, that his mercy endureth for ever.  I called upon the LORD in distress:  the LORD answered me, and set me in a large place.  The LORD is on my side; I will not fear:  what can man do unto me?  The LORD taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me.  It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.  It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes.  All nations compassed me about:  but in the name of the LORD will I destroy them.  They compassed me about; yea, they compassed me about:  but in the name of the LORD I will destroy them.   (Psalm 118:4-11)

Several years ago, the LORD told me to withdraw my hand and to stop trying to be God in the life of a prodigal.  I obeyed, as far as I know.

Then a couple of months ago, the LORD gave me three words, which are on my refrigerator:  PREPARE, OBEDIENCE, VESSEL.  So, I have been preparing for the promises of the LORD to come to pass.  I am working on obedience (I can be quite stubborn, but the LORD is merciful --  see the Psalm above).  I have been praying to be used as a vessel, praying that I would be the answer to someone's prayer for their prodigal and praying that God would use me in the life of mine in any way He wants, or not at all, if that is what is needed.

I believe this all fits with the two verses above.  First, David was given a kind of passive action:  don't go up, but put yourself in a certain position, and when you see the stirring, then stir yourself!!  Well, I am trying to put myself in a certain position, and I can sense the stirring of the Spirit!!  There has been a major setback, but I believe it is the setback before the victory!!!!  The setback does not change the promise one iota!!!

Then I came to the Psalm.  It also tells me that I have to do something to secure victory!!  I know there is praying and fasting to be done, and I am asking God to help me be ready and sensitive to His voice and bold in my obedience when the time comes and every day!!  The battle is here!!

Sometimes the hardest thing to do is wait, but it is an active waiting, a time of preparing.  I want to be ready when the stirring comes in the tops of the mulberry trees, because then, the LORD is going before me, to smite my enemies!!!  Praise the Name of the LORD!!!

Jehovah Sabaoth, Commander of the Armies of heaven, is God of the house of Winkelman!

1 Samuel 17:45-47 tells what David said to Goliath; it says, “Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield:  but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.  This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.  And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the LORD'S, and he will give you into our hands.”  When I read this scripture, a thought came to me from verse 45:  “He is the LORD of hosts, the God of the house of Winkelman!”  Stop right now and write your last name in the blank:  “The Lord of hosts, the God of the house of (___________)!!   WOOHOO!!  Praise Him!!!  Declare Him to be LORD of your home!!  As for us and our house, we will serve the LORD!!  (Joshua 24:15)

Raindrop verses:  Psalm 103:8, 12, 17 -- "The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.  As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.  But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children".

I love Who God is:  merciful, gracious, slow to anger, plenteous in mercy, has everlasting mercy (Did you notice the mercy thing was mentioned three times?)

I love the promises of God:  He removes our transgressions from us as fas as the east is from the west, His "everlasting to everlasting" mercy is upon those who fear Him, and He extends His righteousness to children's children!

Good stuff!

I have been praying for godly people to be put in the life of our prodigal each day.  I do not get to see the answers to my prayers often for this situation, but I saw the answer to this prayer for one day this past week.  A very special lady told me that God laid a heavy burden on her heart to pray for our prodigal one day, so she did.  Then she told me that she felt she is to write a letter to this person!!  I told her about my prayer, and then I told her, "Go, godly person!"

This is yet another raindrop to show me God is answering my prayers!!
