I hear a stirring in the tops of the mulberry trees!!!

A major breakthrough is coming!!!

I think the LORD is trying to prepare me for a major breakthrough!!

Kay Collins posted this on my Facebook page:  "I’ve almost learned to get encouraged through discouraging circumstances because it seems major setbacks always come just before major breakthrough." -- Jentezen Franklin

Then this morning, I read these two passages of scripture:  "And the Philistines came up yet again, and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.  And when David enquired of the LORD, he said, Thou shalt not go up; but fetch a compass behind them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.  And let it be, when thou hearest the sound of a going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself:  for then shall the LORD go out before thee, to smite the host of the Philistines.  And David did so, as the LORD had commanded him; and smote the Philistines from Geba until thou come to Gazer.  (2 Samuel 5:22-25)

And. . .  "Let them now that fear the LORD say, that his mercy endureth for ever.  I called upon the LORD in distress:  the LORD answered me, and set me in a large place.  The LORD is on my side; I will not fear:  what can man do unto me?  The LORD taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me.  It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.  It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes.  All nations compassed me about:  but in the name of the LORD will I destroy them.  They compassed me about; yea, they compassed me about:  but in the name of the LORD I will destroy them.   (Psalm 118:4-11)

Several years ago, the LORD told me to withdraw my hand and to stop trying to be God in the life of a prodigal.  I obeyed, as far as I know.

Then a couple of months ago, the LORD gave me three words, which are on my refrigerator:  PREPARE, OBEDIENCE, VESSEL.  So, I have been preparing for the promises of the LORD to come to pass.  I am working on obedience (I can be quite stubborn, but the LORD is merciful --  see the Psalm above).  I have been praying to be used as a vessel, praying that I would be the answer to someone's prayer for their prodigal and praying that God would use me in the life of mine in any way He wants, or not at all, if that is what is needed.

I believe this all fits with the two verses above.  First, David was given a kind of passive action:  don't go up, but put yourself in a certain position, and when you see the stirring, then stir yourself!!  Well, I am trying to put myself in a certain position, and I can sense the stirring of the Spirit!!  There has been a major setback, but I believe it is the setback before the victory!!!!  The setback does not change the promise one iota!!!

Then I came to the Psalm.  It also tells me that I have to do something to secure victory!!  I know there is praying and fasting to be done, and I am asking God to help me be ready and sensitive to His voice and bold in my obedience when the time comes and every day!!  The battle is here!!

Sometimes the hardest thing to do is wait, but it is an active waiting, a time of preparing.  I want to be ready when the stirring comes in the tops of the mulberry trees, because then, the LORD is going before me, to smite my enemies!!!  Praise the Name of the LORD!!!
